Christmas Day end of the day

After a long day of nonstop action and excitement he falls asleep in the car still holding onto his Tipping Tractor game from CARS ( see the left corner). He was out cold

Christmas Day at Grandma D's

Papa Phil and Spiderman. I didn't put these in the right order but when you see the others of Christmas morning you will see I told you he wore it all day long.

Santa left a new guitar at Grandma D's ( Thank Goodness it wasn't a new set of drums)
Uncle Larry is giving lessons

Jessica and Michelle all grown up

Carole and Kathy.

Christmas Morning at the Lisk Household

Shane wrote a letter to Santa with only a couple toys he wanted, and told Santa "to give the other kids who don't have any lots of toys." What a good boy! Santa got his letter AND wrote him back from the North Pole! How does that go: One piece of paper and envelope 1.00, one stamp 39 cents, one trip to the post office to officialy mail the letter 2.24 cents in gas..... watching my 5 year old open his letter from Santa Claus PRICELESS!

He is VERY into Spiderman right now as you will soon see!

Full Spiderman suit..not a costume ( I was corrected more than once) its a suit, and when he is in it his name is NOT Shane. He opened this, stripped off his sleeper right in the middle of the living room, put this on and did not take it off until tubby time at 730pm. Mask and all.

Not Mommy's favorite gift however he is Daddy's boy right now so I was overruled, and I have a heavybag in the basement that I use to workout so now he gets to work out too!

Can't read yet but is so happy Santa left him a note, and ate some of his Zingers and milk.

Look Mommy! He Filled my Stocking!

Should I eat this or did my diet start already?

Christmas Eve 12-24-06

Right to bed without a problem after checking NORAD to track where Santa was ( he was abolutely amazed when he saw the computer screen with Santa's sleigh, and the tracking of where he had been). Sound alseep in minutes!
What a sweet baby boy!

Christmas Eve at Bronson Park

This is our annual tradition of walking through Bronson Park on Christmas Eve. It's hard to believe but there is absolutely no snow in Michigan right now. It was nice to not freeze however we actually missed having the snow. This is Candy Cane Lane.

Stopped to pose with Rudolph on our way to the Nativity scene.

The Santa is HUGE.

Of all the decorations in the park leave it to Shaner to find a military cannon to pose for a picture on. I'm surpirse he didn't try to climb in it :)

Christmas Eve at Papa John's and Grandma Spike's

Celebrating Christmas Eve with Papa John, taking in a little target practice with the pellet gun. Notice how they are BOTH wearing red and blue fannel, jeans, and tennis shoes.

Checking out his shot accuracy.

Shannon, Jodi, her husband Doug, and Michael.

Grandma Spike and her pile of presents!

The DelVechio Christmas Tree

Nicol, Mike, Sherman (the cat that Mike LOVES to pieces:) and Denali. This is in front of their new Christmas tree in their new house.

Christmas Eve one day early with the Lisk side

The following are pictures of our Christmas celebration with Chris's side of the family. He has three brothers (Matt, Trevor and Kyle), one sister (Charity). Matt is married to Mary and they have 3 children: Parker, Hannah, and Lindsay. Charity is married to Mike and they have 5 children: Michael, Amber, Alexis, Brady, and Josh. His younger two brothers are Trevor 16, and Kyle 15. Normally we celebrate at our home on Christmas Eve, however this year to accommodate all the celebrations we gathered a day early. The kids, as usual, had a blast and wore poor Trevor out! It's rare that everyone on the Lisk side gathers so its always nice to see everyone, and see how much the kids have grown up!

Dec 23, 2006 Christmas with the Lisk side

Hannah checking out her new lip gloss

Aunt Mary and Amber watch the lovely Lindsay play with her new toy.

These are the grandchildren (with the exception of Joe and Michael ) posing with their "Gramps" as he likes to be called or Papa T as Shane calls him. Matt, holding Lindsay, is in here to console his daughter, not because he thought, as in a previous year after too many adult beverages, that he was one of the kids!

Josh, Brady, Shane and Trevor

Kyle, Alexis, and Brady

The Lovely Miss Lindsay

Colorado Trip Dec 06

Mike is going to seek revenge on me forever for posting this, however I did so at the request of his pregnant wife and my favorite sister. Nicol pregnant 6 months....Mike's sympathy belly.

Mommy and Daddy to be in the baby's room in their new 2300 sq foot house. The gender of Baby D (Delvechio) is unknown much to the dismay of the grandparents and aunties ( especially the one from MI who they are taunting with it being a girl!) Snoopy and Family is the gender neutral theme.

This is my room at their new house, I am able to work remotely from Colorado which will come in handy when Shane and I drive ( yes I am driving solo to CO even with my slightly challenged map reading ability. Mapquest, Onstar, and soon to be purchased GPS in the Trailblazer will come in handy)

Christmas with Joseph 12-22-06

Joseph opening his pile of gifts. As you can see he was happier than a hippo in water!

Joseph by the tree which they will decorate later on with the entire family.

Yes, its all 3 of us, and we're smiling, and nothing was freezing over and pigs weren't flying :)
As you can see his specialized care home is very nice, and they go all out for family holidays. We, meaning Chris and I, have a wonderful relationship with the family. We share many of the same approaches to things which makes this situation work well, and not allow for loopholes or chinks in the armor. Its highly structured and strict, but also positive, and recognizing of rewards when earned. Our hope is he will decide to work with it rather than against, and utilize all the opportunity for help that has been provided to him. The ball is in his court, choices have consequences and rewards so it's up to him what choices he makes.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our house to yours!
We love you!

Sugar Cookie Time .Going to see Santa

Shane is concentrating very hard on getting ALL of the sprinkles on the cookies he has made for his Daddy's class of soliders. If you look closely you will see that he DUMPS all the sprinkles on the icing until its stacked....nothing like a green mouth and sugar rush!

Still doesn't look a thing like his Mommy!

Dressed and ready to go see Santa....notice the Antelope and Moose in his hands...they go EVERYWHERE with him lately. Not sure what the fascination is probably has something to do with the hunting gene Chris provided. :)

The Lisk House at Christmas Time 2006

This is our house decorated for Christmas. Yes it is the brighest one with blocks. Don't worry there's more look at the next picture below........

This is our house from the street...notice we couldn't leave the other side of the driveway undecorated so we have 3 angels lighting up the other side.

These decorations are our gift to Consumers Energy when we pay our bill in January!

Joseph Visit

Joseph age 16.
These were taken on 11-27-06 on a recent visit to see Joseph at his specialized care home. As you can see he is nearly as big as Chris now.

Chris and his son, Joseph.
Joe is 16 and a sophomore.

11-25-06 The Hunt for Our Christmas Tree

The hunt for the perfect tree.....imagine a 5 year old at a tree farm having to make up his mind on a tree....yes we were there for a LONG time. :)

He picked out a great one, and is giving instructions to his Daddy on how to cut it down! ( its those bossy White genes:)

There it is! And Shane wanted to ( and tried) to lift it onto the dead animal rack(that is my terminology for the deer rack on the back of the Tahoe)by himself!
